Trailers reaction

Antebellum

By Alexandra

Written and directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, "Antebellum" looks like a twisted time-travel horror. The trailer cuts from scenes reminiscent of the Civil War, to modern life, then to a young girl à la "The Shining"- enough to draw audiences in and terrify them at the same time.

That is to be expected, given that "Antebellum" is produced by the same team that worked on "Get Out" and "Us". Janelle Monáe plays Veronica, an accomplished author who is stuck in the different timelines.

The film will be coming out in April 2020.

Cats

By Alexandra

The more footage we see from "Cats", the more unsettling the concept becomes- are those fur coats part of their own fur or do they belong to other cats? Why are they half human-half cat? Why not go for one or the other so we can all sleep undisturbed at night?

The songs and choreography will hopefully be good and one hopes the film's look will be partially salvaged by the likes of Ian McKellen, Dame Judy Dench, Idris Elba or Jennifer Hudson.

It is indeed an odd time we live in and I am actually really looking forward to seeing how the film will be pulled off.
