Jojo Rabbit

By Christiana

Versatile writer and director Taika Waititi takes comedy to a whole new level in the first trailer for 'Jojo Rabbit'- an anti-hate satire that tells the story of a young boy named Jojo whose imaginary friend (Hitler- played by Waititi) guides him through life.

When Jojo finds out about the Jewish girl that her mother is hiding in their home, everything becomes complicated.

It is an amazing teaser for an amazing film, which includes many exciting details, such as having David Bowie's German version of 'Heroes' part of the soundtrack.

The cast features Roman Griffin Davis, Thomasin McKenzie, Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, Rebel Wilson and Alfie Allen.

Between Two Ferns

By Alexandra

"Have you ever seen a chicken strip?"
"I've never seen a chicken wear clothes"
"Between two ferns"  movie is Hollywood's attempt at self mockery and sarcasm.

Join Zach Galifianakis as he takes his celebrity talk show on the road across the US, joined by Awkwafina, John Legend, Matthew McConaughey and Benefit Lumberjacks. Benefit Cumbers. Bene- ok, I'm sorry, Benedict. Benedict Cumberbatch and many more.

Just Mercy

By Alexandra

Byran Stevenson (Michael B Jordan) is a Harvard-educated lawyer who decides to dedicate himself to finding justice for death row inmates that have been wrongfully convicted. He sets up a legal centre to aid his purpose, helped by Eva Ansley (Brie Larson), an Alabama advocate.

Branded the "Anti Green Book" (Matt Goldberg, Collider), "Just Mercy" tackles a broken judiciary system and stereotypes rooted in society. Let's hope it does the story justice.

Bad Boys For Life

By Christiana

For old times' sake join Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in what seems to be the last instalment of 'Bad Boys'.

After a long absence, detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett team up for one last time in a mission that will bring a huge dose of action and excitement to the big screen.

Vanessa Hudgens,Alexander Ludwig, Joe Pantoliano, Happy Anderson and Charles Melton are part of the cast. The film is expected to premiere on January 17th, 2020.

Black Christmas

By Christiana

This year's 'Black Christmas' is a remake of the 1974 horror film with the same name. A group of students are being chased by an odd stranger during their Christmas break.

Apart from looking quite weak on its own, the plot seems very predictable judging by the trailer. What's even worse is that we pretty much end up with the entire film in the two minute trailer.

We already know about the 'strangers', so the film will probably be kind of pointless. Well, if you want to watch it, it will hit theatres on Friday, the 13th of December.

Catherine the Great

By Alexandra

Helen Mirren and Jason Clarke reunite on the small screen to depict the powerful Catherine the Great, Russian empress, during her affair with Grigory Potemkin (Clarke).

The show is bound to be a delight with a very capable cast and a rich story to be illustrated. It remains to be seen whether the show would take a stand, by mentioning Catherine's orders to inoculate her "subjects" against smallpox or her support of the Enlightenment.

Doctor Sleep

By Alexandra

Wow. Absolutely wow.
Forget Disney World, welcome to Stephen King World.

Doctor Sleep is an adaptation of Stephen King's eponymous novel, and a direct sequel to the acclaimed and cult film The Shining.
The trailer depicts a movie picture masterfully executed, with Ewan McGregor playing Danny Torrance, "the kid from The Shining".

Years after the events at the Overlook Hotel, Danny is still traumatised and meets Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a girl who shares his gift.
From then on it should be an all-you-can-stomach buffet of suspense and writing mastery.

The second trailer prolongs the suspense and immerses us deeper into the film. Can it be out already?
