The Lighthouse

By Christiana

If you thought no trailer could be more confusing and eerie than the first one 'The Lighthouse' presented a month ago, think again.

Robert Eggers strikes again with a disturbing series of clips from his latest masterpiece about two lighthouse keepers (Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe) that go mad. Prepare to be enchanted and trapped in this sinister tale of the sea.

Can't wait to see it this October.

Watchmen: Season 1

By Alexandra

Roy Orbinson's "Running scared" features the new trailer of Damon Lindelhof's new HBO series, "Watchmen", epically carrying the audience through a timeline where superheroes and vigilantes are treated as criminals due to their unorthodox methods of obtaining justice.

The cast comprises Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson and Tim Blake Nelson, among others, in a series that, according to Lindelhof, we should be expecting "new faces" that distance themselves from the original comic book material.

In a dystopian future where every human has lost their sight, starts a new era, once a pair of twins gifted with the ability to see is born.

Some of you might be intrigued by the fact that Apple TV's newest show will be featuring the producer of the 'Planet of the Apes' trilogy, the director of 'The Hunger Games' and the creator of 'Peaky Blinders'. The others might be a bit confused and skeptical when it comes to the script behind the TV series, because honestly it sounds a lot like 'Birdbox'.

We'll just have to wait and see how this one turns out.

Coming up in November 2019, "Midway" depicts the four-day World War II battle and the events surrounding it.

Based on a true story and people, the film follows Lieutenant Dick Best (Ed Skrein), Lieutenant Commander Edwin T. Layton (Patrick Wilson), Lieutenant Commander McClusly (Luke Evans) and others, as the trailer takes us through epic air battle scenes and resilient characters. It resembles other war epics, but it has a certain freshness to it, so I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Like A Boss

Mel (Tiffany Haddish) and Mia (Rose Byrne) a two friends who own a beauty business together.

They have been through thick and thin and have had each other's back so far, but their friendship gets put through hurdles when Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) steals an idea from them under the guise of investing in their business.

This Paramount Pictures feel-good comedy will air in cinemas on 7 February 2020 (UK).

Shameless: Season 10

By Christiana

America's most dysfunctional family is back with a new and exciting season. The Gallagher house is a mess and Debbie seems to be the one in charge, in Fiona's absence.

Lip is having a hard time adapting to parenthood, but why is he raising the baby on his own? Did Tammy leave? What's up with Kevin acting so odd and why was he pole-dancing at that club? Wait… Don't tell me Ian is breaking up with Mickey again, after he got himself into the same prison so they could be together!

What is going on with the Gallaghers? Ugh, I am afraid we'll have to wait until November the 3rd to find out.

Yes! So much yes! Rosamund Pike takes on the colossal task of portraying Marie Curie, the scientific genius of the 19th century. The trailer presents us with her discoveries, her dreams and love for science, but also with the struggles faced by women who wanted to be taken seriously in those times.

Sadly, the film has received low grades so far (56% on Rotten Tomatoes, 1/5 in The Guardian), and the reviews identify a moving picture that has failed to give its heroine the pedestal it deserves and it the manner she deserves it.

The film has only been released to the public for a day, so it remains to be seen whether these grades improve.

What if your phone had every app you needed on it, including one that could predict your exact time of death?

Welcome on board of this surprisingly captivating story, which seems to be inspired by 'Black Mirror's "Hang the DJ" episode.

Are you going to watch Elizabeth Lail (You) and Anne Winters (13 Reasons Why) this October as they attempt to beat the clock and stay alive?
